Free Online Guitar Lessons?

I am thinking about buying a electric guitar/bass, and I would like to know where I can get some free online lessons to play them.

My class next year is stepping up from Ukuleles to Guitars.

Also, since I am new to this, but still will be learning to play guitar, (Not electric) should I get bass or electric?

Guitar tips on strumming and etc.?

I just got a guitar a couple days ago and have learned the A, D, and E chords. I’m still trying to figure out how to strum properly with or without a pick. I can’t seem to get it.

Any tips on that? Also how much are capos? Any other guitar tips would be great. Thanks! Oh and it’s an acoustic.

I’ve been playing a little over year and taught myself. I started out with a pick, at first I would have trouble with holding the pick without it falling out of my hand. The longer you play, the easier it will be with a pick because you’ll find your comfort in holding it.

Recently, I started playing without a pick and use my thumb to strum. But I’d start out with a pick. As far as strumming patterns go… just mix it up… couple down strokes on the A chord, couple up down up down strums on the D and etc.

The more you become comfortable with the guitar the more you’ll feel the music and it will come better to you. You can get a cheapy capo for 5 bucks, but I wouldn’t recommend it. Normally the good ones cost about 20 bucks. But they’re worth it.

It’s fun to experiment around with a capo, and once you learn barre chords, you won’t need a capo as much. But they’re very useful. some other tips… maybe instead of strumming, once you get the pick down… maybe pick single notes instead of a strum… just pluck one string at a time and mix it up and then go intro strumming. do you know about hammer ons and pull offs? they’re great once you get them down. Also, if you look on youtube a lot of people make instructional videos for guitar tips… it’s useful also. Good luck!!

Are there any free guitar online lessons?

I got a new guitar, and i have no idea how to play it. even though i want to learn so much.

Classmates at school say that the school’s guitar lessons really suck. i dont want to waste my time. so please help me find a free website to help me learn how to play the guitar. please help if you can.

I have posted similar questions that I have answered in the hopes that most of your questions will be answered from these. If there is anything else you need, just give me a shout and I’ll be glad to help.

You are going to make faster progress and learn less bad habits if you get yourself a teacher of course, and you ought to remember that regardless of the quality of the school lessons, you will get credit for taking them and it will put you together with a group of guitar players.

Of course, there are also private teachers available, as well as community college courses. Best of luck, and I hope this helps.

Which site is great for guitar tips?

I need some quick and effective tips for gutiar.

I’m not that good at guitar so even beginner techniques might be helpful. I’m particularly bad with arrpegios.

It’d be great if there’s a site which automatically sends dailys tips on my mail.

Also suggest a site to suggest songs that can be easily played on guitar.

What are some inspiring rocks songs for a learning acoustic guitar player?

I have started taking acoustic guitar lessons with a friend and would like to hear your opinion on songs to listen to for inspiration, and to become more familiar with the general style. I have pretty wide ranged tastes in music, but I am aiming for classical to modern rock.

Songs I learned while learning Guitar: Hold my Hand - Hootie and the blowfish (I’m the one who wants to) Be with you - Mr Big Tears in heaven - Clapton Lightning Crashes - Live Breakfast at Tiffany’s - ??? Wicked Game - Chris Isaac Low - Cracker Wounded hand - Stone Temple Pilots Black - Pearl Jam A lot of old U2 and REM stuff is very easy. U2 tends to ride a chord progression through the whole song, REM creatively uses secondary dominants and major minors.
