Q&A: Is learn and master guitar a good course to choose?

Is learn and master guitar a good course to choose?
I’ve been looking into it. I’ve played guitar for about a month now. But I’m thinking of going back to basics and starting off again. My friend is offering to give me the course what costs around £120 for all 20 CD’s. Apparently it’s the best course out there according to people on the internet, tell me what you think. Thanks.

In truth, there is no “best course”. There are courses that are great at this or that, or lots of different things, but different people have different learning styles and different goals, so one program that is the “best” for everyone just isn’t possible.
You should consider what you’re trying to do with the guitar, and choose a method that does THAT particularly well.

It is pretty good as they go, but all CD/DVD or internet lessons need to constantly be backed up by a live advanced player or teacher.
Two major problems.
You do not have someone to show you what you misunderstood, or did wrong.
These programs try to teach you everything up to Master level in a too short a period of time.
All of the great guitar players that I know were still considered beginners after a year of playing, because they worked so hard on fundamentals rather than speed or show.
I’m not too familiar with that course, but I have heard good things. It looks kind of pricey, so you would have to be pretty dedicated to have it work out. You might want to check out some other courses online, I did some of these are was really happy with my results.
It is marketed as the top selling course. Don’t know if that’s true or not but I bought it when I first started playing, it was like $ 200 or more. I absolutely hated it and returned it within a week. I’m sure you could learn from it but I couldn’t get into learning the Twinkle Twinkle Little Star type songs. The songs you learn are just horrible. After sending it back I tried the Rock House Method which was only $ 39.99 for the beginner, intermmediate and advanced DVD’s. I liked it much more than the Learn and Master course and it’s much cheaper also. I do have friends that are long time gigging guitarist to help also and that is a huge plus.

£120 seems abit steep. I have not heard of “Learn and Master Guitar”.
When I was new to guitar, I learnt from a course called Jamorama. They’re really good, you should check them out.
