Will you be singing any more songs from The Sound of Music? I think you may have found your genre!

So good to hear Kitty Kat. You will be surprised how fast you learn!
e:)

so glad i got ur ebook, this makes so much sense. I have a long way to go, but I am learning sooo much everyday!

u look like Thom Yorke with that hair and beard.

Super ! Please make a video on how to work fingers across for major scale.

my daughter is just starting to learn acoustic (i play bass, but she wants to play guitar, i can only show her so much, she’s braver than me ;-) so these videos will be great for her. much appreciated!

i have that same guitar!!!

O_O Im confused.. on .. how to put my fingers on it.. I looked at your other video. I tried doing that but it still doesnt sound correct! D:<
UGH D:

You didn’t really tell us what “diatonic harmony” is or where it comes in… you just explained the major scale and its construction. Is diatonic scale just another name for the major scale?

The note on the 5th fret of every string is the open note of the next string, the 6th fret is the 1st fret of the next string, the 7th the 2nd note of the next string, and so on. (the only exception is that the 4th fret of the G string is the open note of the B string). That’s all you need to know to play across the fretboard.

brush your hair you slob! j/k good stuff

learn one octave of the scale, say A major for instance, and get someone to play an A major chord for you and have a little play with the scale. this is pretty much the basis for guitar solos as well as melody/vocal lines.

when your backing is playing A major chord in this instance, some notes in the A major scale will be ’stronger’ (more CONSONANT) than others, at first stick with the 1st, 3rd and 5th notes in the scale then add more in as you get more confident on the fretboard

I like how you say “guitar champs” in the beginning of every video. Subconsciously helps as well as technically

lookn tired there haha

just transpose to a minor key and no matter what your going to sound good, just listen to par martino thats all he does

stick close to the 1 3 5 of the scale and repeat 7ths are great lead tones if your going to add color (a chromatic note) make sure it leads into a strong beat. nothing to it really

This was very well explained, understood it better than I’ve ever done now. Thanks again.

I;m strugglng with playing across the fret board with the major scales? I have no idea what to do with them

Thanks!

Good question. I will eventually do a lesson for this. Yes you memorize it, and then move it up and down the neck as per what key you are in.

Super helpful lesson!
I have a question, dunno if you read this or not but…

how to do you play across like that? the patterns that is? I get the concept of whole scale - half scale pattern, but not sure how to take it to the next level I guess. Do you memorize the pattern and then just transpose it to the next key? Is this something you could do in another lesson? :)

thank you sooo much this helped alot because i was yhaving trouble with the diatonic harmony stuff u rock! dude thar was awsome but i wld like u to make a video on the strings and how theyr labeled and stuff and how u noe which one is which pleez
