What should I do at my guitar lesson?
I have a guitar lesson in about 20 minutes, and he bases my lessons off of what I ask him about. I have the basic stuff, but I want to learn a couple harder things. Any suggestions?
I have been playing since christmas.

i can say to you that you have already made it passed the hardest part, and that is to keep playing, i tell everybody that if they can make it passed the first month or two and keep playing its all down hill from there, congradulations, you are a guitar player now and you will become better,, lessons for me blew chunks, the teacher was a bore and really didn’t show me crap,, what i did was go and buy music books by artist’s that i like,(Beatles, Stones, Dylan, Zep, Hendrix, Elvis both Presley and Costello, the Clash, Bob Marley………. and many more) as you can tell i am older, lolol,, strummed the chords and to my surprize the melody’s just appeared, as i could hear them in my head,, you dont have to be able to read music because the chords are shown in box type above the music in most books,, you can hear that melody so figure it out :),, hit and/or miss,, search and destroy,, its really not that hard and for me it is fun,, and whats even more fun is the “mistakes” that make me go ,, wow, thats that song too :):) best to you

Ask him to show you how to play the chords to the blues in A7. Then ask him to show you how to solo over it using the A minor pentatonic scale. Then learn it in some other keys. A lot of songs are based on the blues.
